Oscar is so fashion conscious...
A while back, I bought Oscar a fleece sweater from Old Navy. On colder mornings, I've put it on him to wear during our AM walk. Recently, it has been very cold, so Oscar's been sporting this awesome blue sweater. He looks so sexy when he walks down the street. The neighbor's Akita is always checking him out. He's the shit.
Although, Oscar always look so sad in it... but I made him pose for a fashion shoot anyways:

This sweater was for like 25-40 lbs... but it looks like it's still swimming on him. I think when he's full grown, I'd like to stock up on other colors, not just his signature blue.

There are times when you look at Oscar and you can see his "old man's face." It's a prediction of what he will look like in about a year. Then the next minute you look at him, he still has his puppy face.
As you can see in the pictures, he still has his puppy pink skin. So soft and so cute!
Oscar is feeling much better! More regular nice poops. And surprisingly, no smelly farts!
But the doc just left a message saying that his urinalysis came in and he does in fact have a UTI and it's crystallizing and lots of white blood cells, so he will probably need another antibiotic. He's due for more shots today, so hopefully we'll get that all settled tonight.
My poor Oscar... but he's doing well and still has his ravenous appetite. And he still loves the couch!

Oscar and Rory sick, but still loveable
Oscar is now on bland diet (since Friday) with 1 antibiotic pill and he's doing much better now. No more wet poops, and more happy Oscar. See my recipe for bland diet below.....
Our vet even warned us that bully sticks can carry salmonella, just like regular raw hide. Hey, I said, if your dog loves them and his BMs are fine, keep it stocked. Unfortunately for us, we had to stop with that. Booo. To help with his teething, we got him a new toy (the yellow toy picture below).
This week, we went to Rory's home to play. It was puppy heaven! The yard was huge, so the kiddies had so much space to run around in. I think Oscar was really pooped. After a few days of very little pooping, he went again (far away from us) to poop. And pooped twice more this morning. He refused to walk and just sat looking pretty on top of the stairs in our front lawn. We took a few steps and Oscar just wanted to go home and sleep.

Since O-Man couldn't eat any treats or kibble, we brought this rice and ground meat to the play date and had him eat out of the bowl between plays. He's fantastic at coming to us when we have food!

Doesn't Rory look like she's going to poop on Oscar?

A few posts ago, I wrote about how much Oscar loves our couch. Here are some more photos to prove that....

I've been trying to get a photo of me and Oscar together, but usually by the time I'm ready for my photo op, Chris has already left for work. It's REALLY hard to take a pick with 1 hand on the iphone... you never know what you're going to press...

And again...
More fun news! We've offered to have Rory over for a week while her parents are away in Berlin. So exciting! Two puppies! Oh my goodness. They will be around 4months old... two big dogs in our house. Yay! I can't wait!
Until then, Oscar will be waiting for Rory on the couch.

Oscar's other family
Sister from a previous litter - Gumdrops. Chris sent me this picture because we were worried Oscar's eyes were getting more and more squinty (insert Asian joke here). The dog looks like a regal Chinese emperor here!
This is Oscar's brother from a previous litter...um... he has the same sleeping method as our boy Oscar.... uncanny.
Both photos courtesy of Gittingers Website: www.bulldogsofnj.com. This blog is also listed until Oscar's page. Yay!Oscar had another set of his DHPP (sp?) shots last week. Since then, all his poopies have been wet and gross, and his farts especially stinky. It was really embarassing when he let out a silent but deadly fart in the presence of Rory and Cathy. In any case, it's been a bit rainy here too, so the wet mooshy poop now stays wet and mooshy (usually it hardens and makes it easier to pick up). Also, Chris' poop picker-upper contraption is really good at picking up wet poop if it's on soil. It digs up the soil too, so nothing wet or mooshy leaks out (ew, gross). Oscar's getting smart, and sometimes, he will position himself on the paved walkway in our backyard, making it harder for Chris to use his contraption to pick up the poop! Which in turn, results in Chris no longer picking up poop (because it's too dark!- ahem)... and making me do poop duty before I leave for work every morning.
This morning was the worst. It had just rained, and Chris warned me on his way out that he didn't pick up any poop last night because it got too dark. By this point, Oscar had already pooped in the morning, so I knew it was a good time to do poop pick up duty. I'm racing around the backyard with FOUR plastic bags picking up the wettest and mushiest poop. Oscar goes quiet. I'm wondering, did he already go inside? NO! He was hiding under a tree, POOPING SOME WET AND MUSHY POOP SOME MORE!!!!!!!!!! I had just thrown out all four bags, and I was done picking up poop for the day.
So honey, please pick it up tonight. It's on soil, so it's easy. Behind the tree that's behind the basement door.
Thanks.
3 months old!
Oscar's new love, beyond all toys, hugs, and kisses, is the couch. He loves our couch. Even though it's microfiber and stain resistent, we tuck in some blankets for him to rest on, so he doesn't get any slobber on the seats. He still manages to get his bulldog drool on the arms of the chairs or on the occasional cushion. In the morning at 6am, I open up his crate, expecting him to run to the back door for his first pee of the day, but instead, he runs to the couch and puts his front paws up and waits for me to notice. He has some trouble getting up on his own, so if we do want him up, he'll put his paws up on the couch and we pick the rest of the body up.

We also don't pick up Oscar anymore to pee. He follows out to the backyard. He's a big boy now! But every once in a while, we'll have to pick him up if he refuses to go outside. Then Chris says, "Oh Oscar! How embarassing! You have to get picked up by Daddy! You're still a baby..." then, Oscar rests his eye over Chris' shoulder and gives me those puppy eyes (which are now no longer blue... wahhhhhhhh).
My favorite time is in the morning when I am still half asleep, and we cuddle up on the couch watching TV. He's usually entertaining himself with a bully stick, while I try to use his rump as a pillow.
Unfortunately, we missed puppy kindergarten this week because Chris and I were both so sick and we would've been absolutely miserable in class, along with Oscar. So we stayed home instead and all cuddled up on the couch, and I eventually passed out at 8pm. :)
Last Sunday (this update is totally out of order!), Rory and Cathy came over again.
